To hell with dignity. I’ll leave when the job’s done.
or AU where Peggy Carter becameM
BEST AU EVER. This is now my canon, thank you.
An object that is surrounded by a magnetic field and that has the property, either natural or induced, of attracting iron or steel.
A person, a place, an object, or a situation that exerts attraction.
A female child, from birth to full growth.
The use of girl to refer to a woman of any age is highly likely to be considered old-fashioned or to cause offence.
This was the best moment of the con. We caught sight of a big group of Marvel cosplayers having a photoshoot and Aeris ran over to these three (I wish I had video of how her hair bounced when she ran, it was amazing and adorable) and cried out “Avengers! Will you take your picture with me?”. Thor absolutely melted, which was wonderful because he’s her favorite superhero, and they posed for this amazing photo (look at her smile!). Then the photographer called them back to assemble for a picture with everybody and Aeris, who’d been posing all day of course, went along. Christian and I laughed nervously and called her back — “Merida! You’re not in the Avengers!” — but as Captain America gave her a little hug and pointed her in our direction, Thor said “She could be, we don’t have a Hawkeye!” and Captain America totally agreed she should be their Hawkeye and basically Aeris!Merida was asked to join the Avengers and it was the Best Thing Ever. Well played all around.
Avengers New Event Preview set to This is War (30 Seconds to Mars)
I mean, it was intentional, right? So. Here’s my take so far. Yes, I added Carol and Wanda. Carol/Soldier-Peter/Civilian has been my thing since I started assigning characters to the song (and that started the first time I heard it, yes) so that was just going to happen, no apology. Wanda I had for Victim, which would round out the first stanza…but then I decided screw that, Wanda’s done being a victim kthxbai, and then I decided not to fit the rest (if we get more preview cards I’ll round it out then). Tada!
Regarding the Black Widow kerfluffle about the way she is treated in the film series (Part Two)
For some time now I, along with a few others, have been writing about the children of the Avengers (#youngeravengers). It started with one kid, Obi-wan (Ben) Parker, the son of Peter Parker and Carol Danvers, and now there are nearly 30. And when we decided to shuffle the team line-ups to accommodate them all I happened upon one brilliant thought. What if we gender-swap the original (movieverse) line-up?
Carol stood. “I have an idea for Jamie’s team.” She tapped Jamie’s picture. “Cap.” Then Ginny’s. “Iron Man.” Slid Bianca’s photo next to the other two. “Hulk.” Next Cooper and Liv. “Hawkeye. Thor.” She tapped her fingers on the table. “I just need a boy Black Widow.” Natasha raised an eyebrow in amusement. Carol’s hand hovered over Jake’s picture but they’d already discussed moving him and he was more like James anyway. What she wanted was a spy. She slid Bobby’s photo into place. “Bam,” she finished, quite pleased with herself.
“The original line-up,” murmured Steve. He had to admit that was clever.
“Kate will love it,” opined Henry.
Jamie looked at the table. “You want me to have a team with Bobby Morse and five girls?” Speaking of sexual harassment seminars.
The adults glanced at each other. “Yes,” said Tony shortly.
(You can read the whole thing here: The Next Generation of Superheroes) In my head, 30 years from “now” that line-up would be considered a stroke of genius. Don’t you want to live in that future? But imagine if this were the line-up of the movie coming out in May. Five heroines and the Token Man aka Sexy Badass (yes, I absolutely picked that picture with purpose). Imagine THAT kerfluffle.
The Young Avengers Legacy Line-up features:
Emma Stone as Jamie Rogers
Mia Wasikowska as Ginny Stark
Amanda Seyfried as Liv Thor
Emma Watson as Bianca Banner
Abbie Cornish as Cooper Osborn
Mitch Hewer as Bobby Morse

[A playlist for Lindy Barnes, the AU daughter of James Barnes (Captain America) and Jessica Jones. Lindy is an original character but she borrows from: Black Widow and Winter Soldier, Alias, La Femme Nikita, Hit-Girl (Kick Ass), River Tam (Firefly), even Harry Potter and Leverage’s Parker… so if you appreciate any of their stories, you should find something to like in this mix.
