An object that is surrounded by a magnetic field and that has the property, either natural or induced, of attracting iron or steel.
A person, a place, an object, or a situation that exerts attraction.
A female child, from birth to full growth.
The use of girl to refer to a woman of any age is highly likely to be considered old-fashioned or to cause offence.
Peter missed Walter terribly, and the image of the mysterious white tulip would remain in his mind for many years. Surely Walter was trying to tell him something…?
Even as Peter settled down to provide for his family by becoming a brilliant engineer, he would be secretly working on a new machine.
Maybe it would safely re-open the Bridge. Or maybe, just maybe, it would enable him to find his father.
It would work like the old one, calibrated to his biological imprint. But it was still to be tested.
One day, a teenage Etta discovered her father’s new machine.
No one could have predicted the repercussions.
I have this quirk, and I don’t know if it’s something intrinsic about me or something I’ve developed over my years of consuming serial media (eg. comics and television), but so many of my most favorite characters are the ones who end up assassinated in their canon. Sometimes literally. But I mean the characters who The Powers That Be don’t know what to do with so they do anything, and the audience turns on them because their character is underdeveloped and inconsistent and “makes no sense”, and then those characters are written out of the story.
Allison Cameron in House M.D.
Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl
Andie McPhee in Dawson’s Creek
Quinn Fabray in Glee
Ro Laren in Star Trek: The Next Generation
Comics are a little different because everything is so cyclical but Wanda Maximoff, Jean Grey, and Lorna Dane certainly fit the pattern. Even Carol Danvers went through a period of it. And movies are not immune, I give you Padme Amidala.
